
Cam O.
Cam earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis from Mississippi State University in 1985, and had a career working in several different capacities in corporate Information Technology departments. After 25 years of working, she decided to follow her passion to teach and left the corporate workforce. She completed the alternate route program and course requirements to earn a Master's degree in Business Education from Mississippi College in May of 2009.
Cam began teaching in the Business & Technical Department at Madison Central High School in the Fall of 2009. She was added as a part-time faculty member at the 9th grade feeder school, Rosa Scott, in 2012. Over the course of these years, she has taught Keyboarding, Computer Applications, Web Design, Digital Media Design, Advanced Software, Innovative Applications using Technology, Personal Finance, and STEM. In an effort to expand her knowledge as well as meet the need for an additional teacher in Madison Central's Academy of Engineering, she completed the required Project Lead the Way training to earn certification to teach Introduction to Engineering Design as well as AP Computer Science Principles.
Cam's desire as an educator is to motivate all students to embrace the real world application of the courses she teaches by bringing her work experience and education into the classroom. Her duties at Madison Central include serving as the Website Manager, Coding Club sponsor, and Robotics Club co-sponsor.
In 2020, Cam earned the title of National Board Certified Teacher. Other Educational Certifications/Endorsements include: iCAT-T Certification, C.O.O.L.
